Hello, my name is James Schweitzer, MD. I am a Medical Oncologist who founded the Bayou Oncology Specialist practice in 1993 when moving to Thibodaux from St. Louis, Missouri. I earned my medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Missouri. My medical residency was completed at the University of Cincinnati. I completed a Medical Oncology Fellowship at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center of the Pennsylvania State University, Hershey, Pennsylvania. I have been a practicing Medical Oncologist since 1980. I am board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. I am an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the Lafourche Parish Medical Society having served as president in the year 2001.

Hi, my name is Colette Fick, I have been the Intervention Coordinator for Bayou Oncology Specialist, providing emotional/supportive counseling, resource information, referral advocacy, and insurance verification services since February 2001. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Child, Family, and Social Services with a minor in Psychology from Nicholls State University in 1992. I also earned a Masters of Social Work in 1995 from Southern University at New Orleans. I have been working with cancer patients since 1992. I am an active member of the National Association of Social Workers NASW LA Houma-Thibodaux Region, and the Association of Oncology Social Workers.

Hello, my name is Kay Arceneaux. I have been a member of the Bayou Oncology Specialist team since October 1999. I have been a chemotherapy nurse since 1991. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1987 from Nicholls State University. I have been nationally certified in oncology since 1994. I am a member of the National Oncology Nursing Society(ONS). I was one of the founding board members for the local ONS chapter and have held an office since its inception.

Hi, my name is Paula Shows. I have been a chemotherapy nurse since 1988. I joined the Bayou Oncology Specialist team in August of 2000. I earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from LSU in 1976. I have been a nationally certified oncology nurse since 1991. I am an active member of the National Oncology Nursing Society and have been active in the local chapter since 1993. I was one of the founding board members of our local chapter and have served as both an officer and board member.

Hello, my name is Tammy Thibodaux. I joined the Bayou Oncology Specialist team in 1994. I have served in several different capacities, including insurance clerk, medical assistant, and most currently, registered nurse. I earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from Nicholls State University in 2000 and a Bachelor of Science in Finance in 1992. I am a member of the National Oncology Nursing Society. I am also a member of our local chapter of C'est BON.

Hello, my name is Sandy Matherne. I have been a licensed practical nurse since 1993 I joined the Bayou Oncology Specialist team in 2000. I have worked with oncology patients since 1997.

Hi, my name is Claire Delatte. I have been a medical technologist since 1975, graduating from Nicholls State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. I joined Bayou Oncology Specialists in 1994. I am a registered member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. I am responsible for the operations of our accredited laboratory.
